Memorial case SAM-1995-V102 · Samashki, Chechnya · April 1995
Original Cyrillic name: Николай · Born: 1950 · Recorded death: 8 April 1995 · Place: House on Proletarskaya Street, Samashki · Memorial Appendix 3 no.: 102
Documented circumstances
The third Russian resident in the Proletarskaya Street shooting documented by Memorial is identified as Nikolay, born in 1950. He was reportedly shot inside the house on 8 April 1995. A wounded survivor provided an eyewitness account of the deaths of three men known by their first names.
What the evidence does not establish
Memorial did not establish a surname for Nikolay in the published list. This record deliberately avoids inventing one or releasing the confidential details of the surviving eyewitness.
This is a source-based memorial record, not a judicial verdict. References to Russian military involvement summarise Memorial’s documented witness evidence. The transliteration is editorial and all explicit uncertainties are retained.
Related documented victims — Proletarskaya Street shooting: Aleksey · Gennadiy. The three men were reported killed in the same house; their surnames are not established in Memorial’s published appendix, and the surviving witness’s identity remains undisclosed.
