Documented circumstances
Nurbika Akueva, born in 1954, lived in Samashki with her family. On 7 April 1995, Russian military shelling reached the courtyard of the home where she and her teenage son Zelimkhan were present.
Memorial’s investigators recorded that Nurbika was killed immediately by the explosion of a shell. Her son Zelimkhan, born in 1979, was wounded in the same incident and died later that day from internal bleeding.
The numbered Appendix 3 records Nurbika at no. 5 and Zelimkhan at no. 4, referring to testimony from relatives, the funeral list and death certificates. Their story is included here as a linked family case, without making assumptions about any relatives’ subsequent lives.
Related documented victims: Zelimkhan Akuev — Nurbika’s son, fatally wounded in the same shell explosion.

Editorial note: This page records a death and circumstances documented in Memorial’s investigative report. It does not independently establish the personal guilt of a named soldier. English Romanization is editorial; the original Cyrillic name governs. The birth year alone does not establish a precise age unless the source explicitly provides one. No verified portrait of this person has yet been added.
