Documented circumstances

Memorial reports that Magomed Yavmirzaev was struck in the leg on the evening of 7 April by a fragment from a shell or mortar bomb. Although a fragment was removed in hospital, he died on 17 June as a consequence of the wound.

Uncertainties

Death occurred more than two months after the injury. The precise munition type and individual who fired it remain uncertain.
